Instead of creating separate variables for each attribute, a structure lets you group them under one name. This makes your code more organized, readable, and easier to maintain.

Example: A student structure can hold the student’s name, age, and grade:

};

Here, Student is a structure that groups three variables (name, age, and grade), and you can create a student by initializing an instance of this structure.

2. Syntax of Structures

To declare a structure in C++, the general syntax is:

After defining a structure, you can create variables (instances) of that structure type. For example:

Passing and Returning Structures from Functions

Structures can be passed to functions as arguments or returned from functions. By default, when passing a structure to a function, C++ passes it by value, which means a copy of the structure is passed, and changes to it do not affect the original structure.

However, you can also pass a structure by reference to avoid copying large structures, ensuring that any modifications made in the function affect the original structure.

Passing by Value:

When returning structures from functions, C++ handles the return value by either copying or returning a reference, depending on how it’s implemented.
